In a time of such uncertainty, businesses across the UK are adapting the way they work and the services they offer to assist others feeling the strain. With the nation coming together to support each other, many organisations have offered free or discounted services to frontline workers, especially those working for the NHS, as well as to those with a low income or who have experienced job loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are very pleased to see so many of our chamber members doing wonderful things to support their local communities, the NHS and the Welsh economy during this time. These are some examples of the great things Welsh businesses and organisations are doing:

• NAT Group and Edwards Coaches are offering free travel on their services for NHS workers.
• NPTC Group have turned their Llandarcy Academy of Sport into a field hospital.
• Welshpool based Whole Spectrum have offered free coaching support to members of the chamber.
• Cardiff & Vale College are offering free collection and delivery of PPE as well as helping isolated individuals stay connected by delivering communication devices.
• Wolfberry have converted their Viper cyber protection to function for people working from home.
• BCB International have recruited an extra 30 members of staff to assist in the production of their high-strength Dr Brown’s Hand Sanitiser with 80% alcohol. They are also shipping protective equipment to care homes.
• The Vale Resort are opening a field hospital on site as well as their distillery manufacturing hand sanitiser.
• Bluestone National Park Resort has been transformed into a Coronavirus recovery centre
• Openreach engineers are working hard to help connect several sites to help the NHS.
• The Royal Mint have begun production of protective visors for NHS staff.
• Transcend Packaging are now producing face protectors to go over masks for those in the NHS
• TB Davies have ensured their operations continue to supply their customers who are keeping the country’s infrastructure operational.
• Pembrokeshire College have designed and cut over 230 visors for Withybush General Hospital staff.
