Vaughan Gething was announced as the new leader of the Welsh Labour party on 16 March.

Following Mark Drakeford’s official resignation, Vaughan Gething was confirmed as Wales’ new first minister following a vote in the Welsh Parliament on 20 March.

Following approval of his appointment by King Charles III, he will appoint his new cabinet.

Commenting on the announcement of the new Welsh Labour leader, Paul Butterworth, CEO at Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, said:

“Congratulations to Vaughan Gething on his appointment as the new leader of the Welsh Labour party and first minister of Wales.

“The Minister’s manifesto pledges detailed opportunities for skills development, business support and sustainable growth, as well as making Wales an attractive place to live, work and invest in. We look forward to working with the new first minister Vaughan Gething to deliver on these pledges and put into action his long-term economic plan for Wales’ prosperity that benefits both businesses and supports the local communities they operate in.”
