New venue announced for Wales Business Awards

The Wales Business Awards are back to reward the successes of businesses who turned survival into opportunity, engaged with their teams and innovated in the last year.

Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid will be celebrating the best of Welsh business and handing out the prestigious accolades at a new venue: St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff.

The museum, part of the Amgueddfa Cymru/National Museum Wales group, is situated in the grounds of St Fagans Castle and gardens, a late 16th-century manor house. Since 1948, original buildings from across Wales and different historical periods have been re-erected on the site, allowing visitors to explore all aspects of how people in Wales lived and worked.

Paul Slevin, President of Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, said: “We’re looking forward to acknowledging all our wonderful finalists and congratulating the worthy winners at St Fagans, Wales’ most popular heritage attraction, in the company of the Welsh business community, ministers and dignitaries.”

An impressive 34 companies have been named as finalists across 10 categories and will be recognised during the awards ceremony at the unique venue on June 9.

Attendees are encouraged to don their best lounge suits and cocktail dresses for the celebration which sees TV broadcaster Gethin Jones return as host and entertainment from Afro Brazilian samba percussion ensemble Barracwda and contemporary circus performers from Splatch.

There will also be performances during the drinks reception and after the ceremony from up and coming Welsh musicians. Mali Hâf will bring her unique Celtic R&B sound to the evening, while rock band Yasmine & The Euphoria will get everyone in the party mood with their epic anthems. Both artists have been discovered and supported by The Forté Project, a scheme shaping the future of the arts in Wales and providing valuable opportunities to young people.
