With our global connections and expert market knowledge at Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, our international trade team curates end-to-end supply chain connectivity across national and global markets to support our members, partners and trading businesses, and this year has been no exception.
What does our team do?
Whether exporting or importing, our services include personal introductions when accessing new markets, sourcing opportunities for business partners and distributors, helping with compliance and advising on logistics and cross-border movement from every land, air and sea port in the UK.
How was Q4 for the team?
We are delighted to report a very successful quarter in international trade. November was our busiest month yet in 2024 as the upwards trend in international documentation enters its fifth month uninterruptedly. December has also been very busy and is expected to surpass all previous months this year.
Overall, 2024 has shown a healthy growth on all areas of international documentation. The team prides itself on supporting our members with processing documentation as quickly as possible, coming in well below our 72 hours standard turnaround time, with a majority of express applications being processed on the same day of submission.
This fast turnaround does not compromise on our accuracy levels which in return improves the compliance of all documentation issued by the Chamber, facilitating customs clearances and transactions.
David Peña, International Trade Manager at Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid, said:
“It may sound contradictory with recent UK export trading news, but I feel that our successful activity shows that our members are committed to exporting and they are thriving in very difficult and challenging conditions.
“Within our team, our continuous L&D initiative has put the Chamber in a fantastic position for the future with four colleagues now fully accredited in certification procedures by the British Chambers of Commerce.”
