Chambers Wales recently connected Welsh business Bond Digital Health with the United States Embassy in a bid to open conversations about trade between the two countries.
Jason Hammontree, an Economic Advisor based at the diplomatic mission in London, met Bond’s senior management team at their headquarters in Cardiff to discuss the company’s data capture system for lateral flow, as well as trading opportunities between Wales and the US.
Bond Digital Health developed Transform, their digital lateral flow solution, during the Covid-19 pandemic, and reimagined the Covid-19 testing system. Now, they look to strengthen their links for business operations in the USA.
With UK and US trading down 7% in the last year, Chambers Wales utilised their connectivity by organising a meeting between the two parties, introducing US Embassy official Jason Hammontree with Bond Digital Health who have experience trading with America. The meeting provided an opportunity to explore the benefits of trading with the US and the viability of America as a market for Welsh products and services.
Jo Price, Director of International at Chambers Wales, said: “The strength of Welsh businesses is in their entrepreneurship and agility, something that Bond Digital Health has demonstrated over the past two years with its Covid-19 test data capture system.
“We were delighted to be able to introduce them to the US Embassy to help strengthen the links for its business operations in the USA.
“There are opportunities for Welsh businesses to grow their markets into the USA and Chambers Wales is able to support the growth of businesses through our connections and end-to-end supply chain solutions.”
Ian Smith, CEO at Bond Digital Health, said: “We couldn’t have organised this valuable meeting without the help of Chambers Wales. Access to their connections and the support they offer for growth means that we can look forward to the future development of the business.
“The future for Bond Digital Health business operations in the USA is now looking brighter than ever, and we look forward to taking the next steps to strengthen collaboration with US-based businesses.”
